extremely slow program response

media shout opens unbvelievably slow, says there are missing files and does not work on laptop with windows 7 installed

Are you using MS4? I see it is the product you have selected. It should work fine on any win7 machine (as long as it meets the specs). As far as the missing files try doing a repair install of MS. The slow opening and closing (if it happens) may be due to the song library. Try compacting the song library to see if that helps. File>song library> compact and repair song library. From inside MS.
